The oaks of Knoydart are no longer part a great Highland Temperate Rain Forest. Sadly now there are only small remnants of this once great forest. But those bits that are left are an amazing ecosystem to explore. This particular patch is at Scottas on the shores of Loch Nevis, so warmer, South facing oaks, and ash - as opposed to the Scots pine trees of the colder North slopes of Barisdale.
Low winter light and frequent showers really highlight the structure of the wood.
